The revision line should be reset when increasing the version.
Is there a reason not to use stgit 0.17.1?

Ah. looks i was lost it version. Let me update a patch and add fixes for long aged template dir bug. Current code expect to use a /opt/local/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7 as sys.prefix, but templates have installed into /opt/local/ prefix.

By resetting revision I meant you can delete the whole line to get the default revision 0
.
You cannot hardcode /opt/local
as prefix, as MacPorts can be installed to a different path. Please see PortfileRecipes.
