#52851 closed defect (fixed)

py-tables compilation version conflict with hdf5-18

Reported by: jjstickel (Jonathan Stickel) Owned by: macports-tickets@…
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 2.3.4
Keywords: hdf5-18 Cc: mmoll@…
Port: py-tables

Description

The archive of py-tables (py27- and py35-) is compiled against an older version of hdf5-18, causing segfaults. This has occurred before, e.g., #34820. Perhaps part of the problem is that it cannot be compiled while hdf5 is active, so that may be limiting compilation on the build machines. I wonder if py-tables should be restricted to be a source install. Or maybe it just needs a revbump.
