Hello ,
i am using MacPorts on Leopard Powerpc 10.5.8 and repeatedly run into
Warning: port definitions are more than two weeks old, consider updating them by running 'port selfupdate'.
altough i several times run succesfully "sudo port selfupdate" and let it process by compter
rich-kus-powerbook-g4-15:~ richku$ sudo port selfupdate ---> Updating MacPorts base sources using rsync MacPorts base version 2.4.0 installed, MacPorts base version 2.4.1 downloaded. ---> Updating the ports tree ---> MacPorts base is outdated, installing new version 2.4.1 Installing new MacPorts release in /opt/local as root:admin; permissions 0755
it takes a very long time (powerbook g4 1,67ghz() to update...
why does it install as root:admin? and why does it fail after finishing?
eg, when i try to install something, it again says

Ok, so is everything working now? Has the port definitions are more than two weeks old
warning disappeared?

yeah, it really took more than an hour to update ! the port seem updated, but i cannot install port eg. when "sudo port install mplayer" ,
it gives error because some py27 -- are not found ... allegedly because leopard cannot handle the https:// ...

ok, i tried again, this time it went differently
Not all sources could be fully synced using the old version of MacPorts. Please run selfupdate again now that MacPorts base has been updated.
