I doubt you're using MacPorts 1.5.0...

Attaching the main.log file showing what the failure is (for each of the tickets you've filed recently) would be helpful.

The MacPorts I am using is the last one, namely 2.4.1

The log says:

:info:destroot sh: line 1:  2243 Illegal instruction: 4  /usr/local/bin/gzip -9vnf man3/cdawson.3

Remove /usr/local/bin/gzip and anything else you've installed in /usr/local. See wiki:FAQ#usrlocal
