Description
I am trying to install gnuplot, which requires aquaterm. After answering Y to build dependencies, aquaterm fails to build in High Sierra, 10.13 (17A365). The log file contains "Failed to locate 'lbzip2' in path..." After installing lbzip2, another failure occurs and the log file contains "invalid command name '::ui_init'".

Strange. I installed Aquaterm and gnuplot w/o any issues under High Sierra just yesterday.

It seems to me that you found the following issue:
402 :info:build 2017-10-03 18:37:01.206 ibtoold[81953:3345225] [MT] DVTPlugInLoading: Failed to load code for plug-in com.apple.dt.IDE.IDEInterfaceBuilderCocoaTouchIntegration (/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/PlugIns/IDEInterfaceBuilderCocoaTouchIntegration.framework), error = Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=3587 "dlopen_preflight(/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/PlugIns/IDEInterfaceBuilderCocoaTouchIntegration.framework/IDEInterfaceBuilderCocoaTouchIntegration): Library not loaded: /Library/Developer/PrivateFrameworks/CoreSimulator.framework/Versions/A/CoreSimulator
Does that file exist? If not, you may want to do the "First launch" of Xcode to install "Additional Components."

Thank you Marius. Since I really don't use Xcode often and 403 other ports had installed successfully; and, since I still have Sierra running on other machine on which gnuplot installs successfully, this looked like a bug. First launch of Xcode solved the problem. Aquaterm and gnuplot now install without a hitch.
