Description
Hi everyone at macports
I'm trying to get a tiger machine upgraded, to the most recent versions on macports.
This is not for the faint of the heart. I fully understand why this is not supported.
But it might be nice anyway, to have a basic set of binaries to start with.
Maybe we can make a 10.4 binary repository from the community?
---
Tiger was such a reliable unix to work with. I rebooted after 2, then 3 and then 4 years (just to reboot)
We should give that old machines some care and feeding.

If you have any more questions about using MacPorts with Tiger, the macports-users mailing list would be your best bet for support.

We're not currently planning on providing binaries for Tiger. PowerPC machines should update to Leopard if possible. Intel machines should update to Snow Leopard or later.
you should probably make use of my Tiger-pegged port repository to get you over a few humps. My PPC Tiger machine can run almost everything MacPorts has to offer, including qt4-mac.
