#56983 assigned enhancement

xorg-server-devel : upgrade and +dri variants

Reported by: RJVB (René Bertin) Owned by: jeremyhu (Jeremy Huddleston Sequoia)

Port: xorg-server-devel

Description

This patch upgrades port:xorg-server-devel to the latest version that can be built with released versions of all proto header packages.

It includes a simple change that introduces +dri2 and +dri3 variants. Built with those variants I no longer see the DRI authentication error messages when connecting from Linux.

Is there a reason why these features were disabled, btw?

Apologies, I submitted this from an outdated copy and forgot about a useful additional change:

  • sign the X11.app executable so that the app firewall will offer to allow the X11 server to accept incoming connections. Without that you cannot even connect to it with a DISPLAY address of the form localhost:0.0! It is enough to use the default signing identity for this purpose.

xorg-server-devel in the repo is now at 1.20.1, so this is outdated -- but I like your code-signing idea and I wonder if we should implement that?
