#57340 closed enhancement (fixed)

Add port for php71-xhprof

Reported by: zoonman (Philipp) Owned by: ryandesign (Ryan Carsten Schmidt)
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version:
Keywords: Cc: stronk7 (Eloy Lafuente)
Port: php-xhprof

Description

Unfortunately current XHProf port is not compatible with modern PHP versions.

I found this fork to be compatible https://github.com/longxinH/xhprof with PHP 7.x.

Can somebody make a php71-xhprof port from it?

In the future, please add the port maintainer(s) to Cc (port info --maintainers php-xhprof), if any.

It would be preferable if the changes from that fork were merged into the official sources and new official release was produced. Could you try to encourage the developers to make that happen?

Looks like they have an issue open but 0 progress https://github.com/phacility/xhprof/issues/88 I will try to bring author's attention to the issue. Thank you!

Evan closed the ticket with link to https://secure.phabricator.com/T9805 where he is referencing experimental branch. This branch hasn't updated for last 2 years. I assume he just gave up on xhprof project because there is no supporting activity on the project.

We could possibly add a separate port for the longxinH fork of xhprof.

Or we could update the existing php-xhprof port to longxinH xhprof for PHP 7 and later. Since the last comment in this Trac ticket, it seems that PECL has adopted this fork of xhprof as the official xhprof, so this is probably what I'll do.

Meanwhile, we have already added a separate port for the tideways fork of xhprof (php-tideways_xhprof) and it is also PHP 7 compatible.
