inkscape @0.92.3_5+quartz builds and installs but fails to run

Reported by: rpspringuel (Fr. Samuel Springuel) Owned by: dbevans (David B. Evans)

Component: ports Version: 2.5.4

Port: inkscape

Description

I recently upgraded to Mojave and went through the procedure for upgrading MacPorts. All the ports seemed to install fine, but when I try to run inkscape I get the following error:

dyld: lazy symbol binding failed: Symbol not found: _g_desktop_app_info_get_type
  Referenced from: /opt/local/lib/libgiomm-2.4.1.dylib
  Expected in: /opt/local/lib/libgio-2.0.0.dylib

  Expected in: /opt/local/lib/libgio-2.0.0.dylib

Abort trap: 6

Clearly something has gone wrong, but heck if I know what.

What procedure? Did you wiki:Migration procedure?

comment:2 Changed 6 years ago by rpspringuel (Fr. Samuel Springuel)

Yes, I followed that procedure. Other ports (like audacity and python) are working fine. inkscape is the only one I've come across thus far which isn't working.

I have also noticed that the +quartz variant is misbehaving on Mojave, though I haven't used it in previous macOS versions either. I was able to get it to run, but the window either doesn't render correctly, is slow to repaint, or sometimes the mouse clicks do not register in the correct positions.

I cannot reproduce the mentioned problem with inkscape @0.92.3_5+quartz on Mojave, but I have other, serious ones, see #57641.

Updated ports today. Problem persists with inkscape @0.92.3_7+quartz.

I just ran into this problem. I somehow had glibmm +x11. Reinstalling glibmm +quartz resolved the problem. glibmm should probably have an "active_variants" check for glib2.

I think this is a dup of #54460
