What kind of Mac do you have, and how old is it? Some of the late-model machines have a version of curl that doesn't work correctly, and they have difficulties downloading certain software. Does that apply to you? Apple has not yet patched this bug in a system update, but hopefully will soon.

yes, I have a late model machine. I have a powerbook that i bought the day the new powerbooks came out in sep 2005. I am new to mac too; how do i check apple to see when they have fixed curl?

I consider this resolved.

I installed the latest sw from apple, which i understand was only avaiable nov 28, 2005 (lucky me, I only had to wait a day). I did not change a lot of configuration on my machine since I reported the problem so it is very likely that the patch from apple is what resolved the problem.

I am still having a different problem installing planner that I will report in a different bug.

Thanks.
