​bitchx does not build: 

checking whether to enable SSL support... yes
checking for SSLeay in -lcrypto... no
configure: error: --with-ssl given, but could not find OpenSSL.

In 5b9c762d49a788a3838de200d51d3880c198afb6/macports-ports (master):

bitchx: backport OpenSSL 1.1 fix

The backported commit is from upstream but not included in a stable
version yet.

Testing: built binary can connect to irc.oftc.net:6697 using SSL
