Description
I am trying to install wine on Mojave by following the suggestions 56991 which requires installing a fresh version of Macports from source (using the suggested /opt/universal) prefix. I was able to build and install the system following the directions. I can run a self update and then when I try to install any port it fails. It seems to fail during the configuration stage. I am guessing this is something I am doing wrong, but I could not find further guidance on the instructions, so I'm asking for help (maybe its a bug?) Specifically failing on gperf....I'm attaching the main and config log files...

Oh, gosh, please don't open a ticket for this. If you have any questions about that off mainstream method, please add them to that other ticket directly, or even better, just email me at kencu@….
I'm not promising anything about that -- it was just an interesting way for advanced MacPorts users who had an reason to have wine under macports to do so, but it is TOTALLY UNSUPPORTED and please don't make me regret even mentioning it!

please redirect any discussion or questions to follow along here 56991.
And don't be surprised if the MacPorts wine
maintainer shuts that down altogether.
