#59652 closed update (fixed)

update py-language-server to 0.30.0

Reported by: pmetzger (Perry E. Metzger) Owned by: reneeotten (Renee Otten)
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version:

Port: py-language-server

Description

Upstream has updated py-language-server to 0.30.0

I also note that we don't seem to support python 3.8 yet, not sure if that's because upstream doesn't?

True, but updating it right now to its latest version will break py-spyder-devel. I'd need to update (or patch) that port first, but updating is complicated due to a new dependency on the py-pyobjc framework.

Regarding the Python 3.8 support: there are a few upstream issues with PY38 dependencies (e.g., py-rope and py-python-jsonrpc-server), which do not pass their test-suite; so I've been reluctant to add py38 subports for now. I'll try and take a look in the weekend to see if any of that has cleared up in the meantime.

In 585a3607c17f6a6611de51112ed9b6b296074124/macports-ports (master):

py-language-server: update to 0.30.0

  • remove duplicate py-future dependency, only needed for PY27

The upgrade part of this ticket has been resolved (the port is not at version 0.31.8). I will add a PY38 subport once upstream declares support and its dependencies are available. Closing this ticket for now.
