#59699 closed update (fixed)

ksh93: Update to latest version

Reported by: jghub Owned by: ryandesign (Ryan Carsten Schmidt)
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 2.6.2
Keywords: Cc:
Port: ksh93

Description

the current macports ksh93 version has assorted bugs. some of them have been reported and fixed by the ksh93 maintainers. a new release is available for download at the github side (there should be another one soon, I hope: still bugs).

question: how often and according to what policy is the macports ksh93 package updated? in this special case it might be helpful to do the updates frequently since the package is under quite heavy refactoring activity (and regressions are creeping in etc.)

Thanks for reminding me to update this port.

Since there has been a new stable release since the last time I looked at this port—the first stable release since ksh93—I took the opportunity to rename the port from ksh93 to ksh and to update it to the new stable version.

If you'd rather use a newer development version, I added a ksh-devel port you can use instead.

There's no policy for updating this port, or most ports; they're updated when someone notices a new version is available and updates it.
