I have opened a ​PR to address this. Several similar patches were dropped from related ports during a recent update ([bf5c734e02/macports-ports]), so it looks like patchfiles-append in this one port unintentionally didn't get removed.

Patch was deleted in bf5c734e02 but didn't get removed from Portfile
