Port is constantly installing python39 on PPC Leopard, Mac OS X 10.5.8, although no package needs it and the installation of further py39 components fails

Uninstall py-pip if you don't want the version for the current default python version.
Yes, this worked! py38-pip does not need py-pip anymore.
