You seem to have a modified wxMaxima Portfile on your computer. We have never offered version 19.05.7. We went directly from 18.02.0 to 20.04.0. Try running sudo port selfupdate to get the latest portfiles first.

I would suggest that you update your ports database and try the 2020 version. The May 2019 version you are trying to install was done before I took over responsibility for this port, so I can't say much about it.

I am btw. currently preparing a new version. ETA 2..4 weeks.

Can you please confirm that the latest version works?

The latest version installs but crashes upon opening from the launchpad. I also had tried the homebrew install; same problem there.

Which version of macOS do you use? Catalina or BigSur?

There is a known issue with wxWidgets on BigSur, we are working on. On Catalina I am not aware of any issues.

Big Sur 11.2

OK, then your remaining issue is a duplicate of #61933. Please see there for a work around until this is fixed.

This issue should be closed.
