hyperic-sigar: update to 1.6.4

Reported by: chrstphrchvz (Christopher Chavez) Owned by: ryandesign (Ryan Carsten Schmidt)

Port: hyperic-sigar

Description (last modified by chrstphrchvz (Christopher Chavez))

The hyperic-sigar port is still at version 1.6.2 as when submitted in 2009; latest published release is 1.6.4 (from 2010); there was further upstream development at https://github.com/hyperic/sigar until 2016.

There are currently 4 reported installations of this port; no issues nor update requests were ever reported (although many reported upstream). Is the port still useful and should be kept and updated, or should it be removed?

The port has already been abandoned; see #62438.

The project's web site no longer exists.

Per this GitHub issue comment:

Hyperic was acquired by SpringSource, later acquired by VMWare. The date of the acquisition correlates rather well with termination of SIGAR releases and abandonment of the project. As the Hyperic products have now been superseded by other VMWare offerings, they have no motivation to continue supporting it.

There is an issue asking if the project will designate a new maintainer or a new official fork; no decision reached as of today.

There are forks of the repo, for example this one with commits as of this year, but no new releases have been made there.

Since the port has not been updated to a new version since its original submission despite a new version having been made available 11 years ago, and since it just installs a 32-bit macOS library which can't really be very useful at this point, I'll delete the port for now. It can be recreated later if the situation changes.

In ed7dc6856653ae08cc911410cbbd9ef632c41c5a/macports-ports (master):

hyperic-sigar: Delete ancient port

The port is abandoned in MacPorts. The project is abandoned upstream.
Its web site doesn't exist anymore. It only installed a 32-bit library
anyway.
