Description
The MacPorts documentation says that there are two chatrooms, IRC and RocketChat, bridged together:
https://trac.macports.org/wiki/Chat
The bridge has been broken for over a week.
Please either fix the bridge, or if RocketChat is no longer supported, then remove the service and update the documentation.

Thanks for bringing this up to my attention. I updated rocket-chat and matter bridge, and the issue is resolved.
Note: See
TracTickets for help on using
tickets.
I should note that IRC is not at all beginner friendly, and represents a high barrier for new people who might contribute to MacPorts. It effectively requires one to have a computer running 24/7, with a reliable permanent network connection, just to be able to read delayed responses. RocketChat preserves the full chat history, so there no need to set up a permanent connection.
