Description
I was trying to upgrade Poppler @0.83.0 on my Mac OSX Sierra.
I get error message that it was
"Attempting to fetch poppler-20.12.1_3+boost.darwin_16.x86_64.tbz2."
After which is shows:
"Verifying checksums for poppler Error: Failed to checksum poppler: poppler-20.12.1.tar.xz does not exist in /opt/local/var/macports/distfiles/poppler"
Here is my log:

P.S. After trying to update Ports, I now cannot run Python and OpenCV. I tried to reinstall my Python37 +OpenCV, but I get messages that it wants to rebuild:
gegl @0.4.18+x11 gimp2 @2.10.14+python27
which in turn need Poppler. Also the following Ports want to be rebuilt when trying to install Poppler:
inkscape @0.92.4+x11 gegl @0.4.18+x11 gimp2 @2.10.14+python27 ufraw @0.22+x11

Thanks for the quick response. I now get the following different message and do not know how to fix that either:

Sorry, I forgot to self update (though I had done that earlier). Here it is again with the same results:

Thank you. I found and following the instructions for manually downloading Poppler at ProblemHotlist#fetch-failures and was able to install it successfully.

You were still fetching from mirrors.evowise.com
, so the change must not have reached rsync yet.
