Description
My question should be simple enough to answer,
You have a very nice, easy to use command to update and upgrade for BIND9. Having an active DNS server on-site, and then upgrading when macOS version changes and a new BIND9 version is required, will upgrading automatically preserve my running configuration, or do I have to back up files in advance, upgrade, and then copy files back and restart in order to be up and running again?
Thank you - this is the command you offer for me to use:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade bind9
Best - Frank

I always recommend having a backup - but the bind9 port shouldn't touch your configuration files (it installed named.conf.dist, db.127.0.0.dist, db.cache.dist, and db.localhost.dist - which will get overwritten when you upgrade the port.
