Description
Only a description of what was happening yesterday is available when I launched it:
- MacBook became very hot and loud
- system opened a window and asked me to kill some application(s)
- saw in Terminal that
emacs-app-devel
had launched hundreds or thousands of processes that were writing into /var/folders/ - MacBook became inoperable, no more memory left
- MacBook had to be forcibly switched off and afterwards Apple file systems restored which took half an hour?

Another MacPorts user from the future: I observed a similar crash on emacs (not devel/app-devel) restoring a macOS-darwin-x86 machine this morning. Full logs available at https://github.com/jculpon/macports-emacs-darwin-error while I figure out if this is an upstream issue with GNU Emacs or an issue with this machine having KDE+GTK+xfce.
