That's not going to be a viable long-term option. Hopefully using build's --config-setting
argument to pass options to the back end will work: https://pypa-build.readthedocs.io/en/latest/#python--m-build---config-setting

True... and thank you for pointing out the --config-setting
argument, I'll take a look at that. I committed the update too quickly this morning and thus broke the build, the quickest solution was just to go back to the good-old setup.py
method for now.
