Note that py310-numba version 0.55.2_0 (the most recent macport version) is incompatible with py310-numpy version 1.23.4 (the most recent macport version). This is documented in ticket https://trac.macports.org/ticket/65482. If we upgrade this port to 0.56.3, according the numba website https://numba.readthedocs.io/en/stable/release-notes.html#version-0-56-2-1-september-2022, the incompatibility with numpy v1.23 should be resolved.

Looks like py310-numba was upgraded to 0.56.4, so this ticket is no longer necessary... but I don't know how to close it.
