Do you have an X server running? (I'm guessing you have gtk3 installed with the default +x11 variant.)

No x server running as far as I can tell. I just did the standard install of putty.

Resolution: → invalid
Status: new → closed

You'll need to install an X server to use X software. sudo port install xorg-server is one possibility.
