Description
Executed sequence of commands:
sudo port -v reclaim sudo port selfupdate sudo port upgrade outdated sudo port -t install octave
last recommended by FAQ person on Macports.
Got new failure
---> Building texlive-bin Error: Failed to build texlive-bin: command execution failed
Same place as last try but now different error.
Have attached main.log file

I officially give up trying to install octave on a Mac Ventura system I am not experienced enough to carry it out. I am mainly a user of software like octave and not a creator! I will wait 6 months and hope all is fixed. Thanks to all who attempted to help.

I will note that I decided to try HomBrew instead. It was clearly designed for Mac Ventura and ran with no errors and installed octave in 13 minutes. NO PROBLEMS
It seems as if they already have everything compiled and just download and install.

I have tried to attach main.log file but it is too large 17.7 MB versus limit of 10 Mb
