Description
An attempt to run port install mpich-default +universal
fails on configure stage as:
configure: error: **** Incompatible Fortran and C Object File Types! **** F77 Object File Type produced by "/opt/local/bin/gfortran-mp-12 -pipe -fallow-argument-mismatch -O2" is : : Mach-O 64-bit object arm64. C Object File Type produced by "/usr/bin/clang -pipe -arch x86_64 -isysroot/Library/Developer/CommandLineTools/SDKs/MacOSX12.sdk -fno-common -O2" is : : Mach-O 64-bit object x86_64.

Well, I did some magic at gcc10-bootstrap that allows to use as kind of universal compiler at clang-11-bootstrap. Maybe it can be reused elsewhere.

It's going to be very difficult to build anything universal for arm64 and x86_64 with gcc, because a single gcc installation won't build both of those archs. You would need a cross compiler for one of them.
