I tried to build after the commit this morning and the build fails. The trouble is that the attachments are patches to the patches in /files, not patches to the extracted distribution. Does that make sense?

oops - sorry! Imho its best to submit a patch for the Portfile and the patch-files themselves as they are; just commited the correct patch-files - don't know how this could slip through;
