py38-numpy fails to build under Mac OS X 10.6.8 i386 - "No long double representation defined"

Reported by: leeeoooooo Owned by: michaelld (Michael Dickens)
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 2.8.0
Keywords: i386 snowleopard Cc:
Port: py-numpy

Description

py38-numpy fails to build on my 32-bit-only CoreDuo "Yonah" MacBook under Mac OS X 10.6.8. This time it says "No long double representation defined." Please see attached log.

If it's not one thing, it's another. This has become a chronic problem that has me wanting to ditch Python altogether if that's even possible.

Which Mac is this? I'm running OSX 10.6 on a Core2Duo & build/install 64-bit apps. Mine is "Macmini3,1", Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.26 GHz ... IDK which actual CPU this is, but it's sufficient for basic MacPorts buildbot needs.

This is the original White polycarbonate MacBook1,1, the one with the integrated numeric keypad and the user-replaceable battery.

2.00 GHz CoreDuo "Yonah"

It's 32-bit-ONLY which is why this can't be upgraded past Snow Leopard. People keep waving Core 2 Duos at me but this is NOT that.

current version in MacPorts is 1.26.4 and there is no PY38 subport anymore. Please try again and see if issues persist.
