this seems to be the same issue I found on gcc6

ld: illegal text-relocation to ___cpu_indicator_init in cpuinfo_s.o from anon in cpuinfo_s.o for architecture i386
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

this is on a native 32bit i386 system

It won't build if any clang >= clang 5.0 is active.

(Assember issues relating to macports modifications to cctools.)
