Description

Testing on a friend's MacBook Air running Ventura Intel, tracemode appears to be broken. That even includes the extract phase, which dies similar to the following (MacPorts paths truncated with ..., for readability): 

$ sudo port -vt extract db62

[...]

--->  Extracting db-6.2.32.tar.gz
Command failed:  cd ".../db62/work" && /usr/bin/gzip -dc '.../distfiles/db62/db-6.2.32.tar.gz' | /usr/bin/tar -xf - 

Killed by signal: 9

This was first brought up for port hugin-app, per issue:67294. But it doesn't appear to be a port-specific issue.

there is already a ticket tracking this trace mode issue.... let me see if I can find it.
