Have installed the following on macOS 14.5:
inkscape @1.3.2_2+quartz (active) inkscape-app @1.2_1+quartz (active)
The installations proceed without issue. However, Inkscape will not launch from the command-line.
Further, if the app launcher is used, it will start an instance of the Xorg server and will then hang with a blank window.
Uninstalling the packages and switching to the dmg package available from the project site will install and launch without issue.
I am not aware of a version 1.3.4 of the package or of the code-base.

Replying to FaradayLight:

What happens when you try? An error message? A hang? A crash? No output except for a new shell prompt?
I am not aware of a version 1.3.4 of the package or of the code-base.
In November, when Jonathan's comment was written, the inkscape port was at version 1.3 revision 4. Today it is at version 1.3.2 revision 2.
Did you install the default setup, which is X11? Or did you install as Quartz?
You can determine that by running
port installed inkscape
from Terminal. Can you paste in the output?
