I looked at the most recent open ticket related to libiodbc. I am not a programmer either and do not not if my particular issue is related.
tried to do a
port upgrade outdated
and it failed.
cleaned and tried the specific port. That failed as well. The attached log file is from trying to do
port upgrade libiodbc

This is preventing me from upgrading other port like graphicsmagick, kdelibs4, and soprano

The errors you're seeing are the same as in #51921.
The workaround seems to be to install the port without the x11 variant. Simply running sudo port clean libiodbc && sudo port install libiodbc
should accomplish that since the x11 variant is not one of the port's default variants.
