Description

I just upgraded my 2019 Intel Mac Pro to Sequoia. I installed the latest Xcode and Command Line Tools, then removed and reinstalled MacPorts. The first thing I tried to build is gmp, and it fails saying there is no C++ compiler. On the surface it seems like a compatibility issues with clang?

Probably #70750 / ProblemHotlist#clts16, but please attach the config.log to be sure.

I don't know what config.log you are referring to, but I looked at the link and deleted the directory it mentioned. Now gmp has built fine. Thanks!

For future reference, the path to the config.log is in the error message:

Failed to configure gmp: consult /opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_macports_release_tarballs_ports_devel_gmp/gmp/work/gmp-6.3.0/config.log
