id3lib sourceforge url is broken

"port install id3lib" fails with "Unable to verify file checksums" because /opt/local/var/db/dports/distfiles/id3lib/id3lib-3.8.3.tar.gz ends up as an HTML error message from SourceForge.

After doing:

wget ...a working sourceforge url.../id3lib-3.8.3.tar.gz \

-O /opt/local/var/db/dports/distfiles/id3lib/id3lib-3.8.3.tar.gz

the install works, so it's just that it has the wrong URL.

It works fine for me. Perhaps there was a transitory mirror problem when you tried to install it?

Well, according to my install logs, this exact same problem happened for me on 4-Dec-2005 and on 24-Feb-2006, so if it's an intermittent problem, it's a multi-month recurring one.

I wouldn't trust sourceforge URLs at all, frankly. Anyone who returns a random HTML page instead of an actual 404 code status header can't be trusted to run a web site.

I get your point. But this app is hosted on sourceforge and we have committed to rely on them for some things for the present time, so we just have to petition them for improvements right now since we aren't prepared to duplicate their services.
