it's a disk monitoring package. If only I were competent enough to undertake it...

It wants something I don't have and don't know how to batter into shape for Darwin: linux/hdreg.h

Agreed. I just looked into that as well.
This is really more a bug for the smartmontools folks...

Accourding to shantanu on #opendarwin, Jaguar already has SMART support.
I really don't know much about it.
But that said... I'm going to close this one.
You can try and bug ssen@… for more answers...
