btw. 4.2.6 is the latest stable release, while 4.3.x is the development branch! This looks loke more like the need for a zsh-devel port... (please open a new bug if that's your intent)

Well, the README file says:
This is version 4.3.1 of the shell. This is a development release, but is believed to be reasonably stable. Sites where the users need to edit command lines with multibyte characters (in particular UTF-8) will probably want to upgrade.
Moreover, it has some bug fixes over 4.2.6 (for instance, in 4.2.6, mutt completion is seriously broken with case-insensitive file systems, like under Mac OS X). The question is: does the user still want 4.2.6?
Assigning to maintainer.
