Description
As the summary states, my entire /opt filestructure is overwritten when I install an MPKG. For example, I created an MPKG of Gaim 1.5.0 and then installed it. Darwinports is gone, along with the subsystem for my VPN and some other self-compiled stuff. Due to the b0rking of the other stuff, I would almost call this a critical bug.

I note you mention a VPN is in /opt, is this Cisco's VPN? If so, I doubt everything was blown away, but was due to Cisco's installer moving things around in an odd way. See the DP FAQ in the wiki at
<http://wiki.opendarwin.org/index.php/DarwinPorts:FAQ>
and look for Cisco on that page.
I saw that bug, but my experience is a bit different in this case. The Cisco VPNClient and DarwinPorts had been coexisting for quite a few months with no problems. It was only when I ran the Gaim MPKG that my /opt dir was blown away.

Not a problem with MacPorts.
