Description

I realize I'm on serious cutting-edge here, so if this is 'in the queue' for the transition to Intel Mac, then feel free to let me know that and I'll go away :)

That said, libshout2 fails to configure on 10.4.5/i386 (MacMini Intel Core Duo) complaining about not finding the Ogg Vorbis library. I've pasted in output of everything requested in the wiki below:

$ uname -a Darwin yumi.local 8.5.3 Darwin Kernel Version 8.5.3: Fri Feb 17 15:59:40 PST 2006; root:xnu-792.9.11.obj~1/RELEASE_I386 i386 i386

$ port version Version: 1.200

$ port info libshout2 libshout2 2.2, audio/libshout2 http://www.icecast.org/

A port of the libshout library. Libshout allows applications to easily communicate and broadcast to an Icecast streaming media server. It handles the socket connections, metadata communication, and data streaming for the calling application, and lets developers focus on feature sets instead of implementation details.

Updated to 2.2.2. libtheora updated also. Builds fine for me on Intel 10.4.8 / Xcode 2.4.

this seems to be again be problem. running: sudo port install libshout2

.. .. checking for libogg... ok checking for VORBIS... checking for libvorbis... ok checking for struct ovectl_ratemanage_arg... no configure: error: requisite Ogg Vorbis library not found

I know on linux you need to have the libvorbis-dev.rpm installed for the libshout2 to configure. If you don't, you receive essentially this same error. Could this be the problem? Even downloading the latest libshout-2.2.2 and running ./configure gives me the same error. Have others seen this problem? Any help GREATLY apprecaited. I'm dead in the water here until his can be fixed.

No, the -dev companions are a linux thing. It compiles on my MacTell ok.

checking for libogg... ok
checking for VORBIS... yes
checking for THEORA... yes

Not sure what to tell you. You should have a recent Xcode from Apple's developer site, etc. but I don't have any specific suggestions. Any manually installed software? You could try looking at the config.log.

Possibly the same error as ices2? #10831

Easiest way to test if this is the same problem is insert #define __MACOSX__ at the top of /opt/local/include/ogg/os_types.h and see if it builds libshout2.

Unfortunately, I can't replicate the error, so I can't help more.
