Description
port install py-gnuplot produces the following output:
---> Fetching py-gnuplot ---> Attempting to fetch gnuplot-py-1.7.tar.gz from http://puzzle.dl.sourceforge.net/gnuplot-py ---> Attempting to fetch gnuplot-py-1.7.tar.gz from http://mesh.dl.sourceforge.net/gnuplot-py ---> Verifying checksum(s) for py-gnuplot Error: Checksum (md5) mismatch for gnuplot-py-1.7.tar.gz Error: Target com.apple.checksum returned: Unable to verify file checksums Error: /opt/local/bin/port: Status 1 encountered during processing.
The first fetch request appears to timeout, and the latter appears to be a 404.

Update your DP installation (via 'sudo port selfupdate') as several sourceforge mirror issues have been dealt with lately. Reopen if that doesn't fix things.
