This has something to do with a bug introduced into ghc 6.4.2. It's not really a darcs problem. The bug has been reported, but it's not clear exactly which component of ghc it's in. Unfortunately, building ghc itself doesn't seem to tickle the bug, so it slipped through testing around the time of release. *sigh*

I suspect it will be fixed quickly, since it seems to break a number of things.

The recent update of ghc to build without the threaded RTS has fixed this on my machine. Does it work for you?

(Building an unthreaded RTS is not the best solution, but it gives us a working compiler until the bug can be fixed.)
