#15830 closed defect (worksforme)
xqf 1.0.5, Non-functional

Description
Only builds properly on a PPC machine using gtk2 variant (see note 2). While the application compiles fine and seems to launch correctly, it doesn't seem capable of actually retrieving any information from master servers. When asked to update servers (which is its parlance for retrieving a list of game servers from a master server), it simply displays "0 servers" and no error message is displayed. Normally, depending upon the game, this number should reach into the thousands.
This appears to be a similar to or the same issue addressed in (Ticket #12037)
Note 1: as XQF is essentially a GUI front-end to the command-line tool QStat, I should probably mention that QStat itself does function correctly when run on its own.
Note 2: default variant doesn't build because of dependency build failure (Ticket #15829)

Since the inner workings of the the whole porting process are way above my head, I must have misinterpreted the change history notes in #12037. I thought adamore had contributed a patch that brought the application back into working order between 1.0.3 and 1.0.5– and that was why the ticket was listed as fixed :)
Rereading, I'm now confused about this hinging on a fix upsteam. In regard to this particular issue, back upstream there doesn't seem to be a problem with the application's core functionality– since, at least as currently packaged for Ubuntu and Gentoo distributions, it seems to work acceptably well.

I'm sorry I didn't notice this ticket before, I recently updated xqf to have gtk2 variant as default and can confirm that it builds just fine on Intel. I can also confirm that it is retrieving servers, i.e. it's working as expected.
I'm closing this ticket, feel free to reopen it if you still experience the problem.
As we already noticed in #12037, there does not seem to be any upstream development for xqf. I believe this is again a report which should be patched upstream.
