Description
I am trying to install ffmpeg with variants "+gpl +lame +faac +faad +xvid +x264 +a52 +avfilter". It is stuck at "Activating libiconv @1.12_0". What do I need to do?

How long have you waited? Depending on the speed of your computer, hard drive, etc. it may just take longer than you were expecting.
Another possibility: Is another MacPorts process running? If so, it may be waiting for that one to finish first.
If that's not it, try with debug output and show us what it's doing. "sudo port -d activate libiconv
