Description
I am using port 1.710 on Leopard 10.5.6 in interactive mode through Terminal.app (version 2.0.1 (240)). I have "Delete sends Ctrl-H" enabled (on) in the Terminal preferences for use with other applications. I see ^H
appearing when text should be disappearing.

Yes, it did fix the issue. I downloaded the MacPorts-1.7.1-10.5-Leopard.dmg image, ran the installer, and restarted Terminal and X11 (just to make sure). Thanks!
P.S. I did search tickets briefly for answers, but #19035 didn't come up in the search. Oops.

Please see #19035. Does reinstalling from the disk image fix the issue?
