Description (last modified by mf2k (Frank Schima))
In February this year I already created a Portfile for digikam and sent it to the macports users list. But no one picked it up, and included it in the repositories. So now I try it via trac, the proper way.
During the LONG process of building all dependencies (on my good old G4) I stumbled upon two problems, one in kdegraphics4 (on a case-sensitive file-system) (#20313) and one in qca (#20314).
First I tried to use digiKam 1.0 beta 2, and even succeeded installing it, but it keeps crashing, so it might be too early for a ticket?
I'm not sure if this version needs kdegraphics4 at all, but digikam 1.0 definitely needs it, so the dependency might as well stay in here already.

Typo: In the line on digiKam 1.0 it has to be "too early", not "to early".
Fixed. :)
A couple of notes about your portfile submission:
- The "
revision 0
" line is unnecessary and should be removed. - In the
long_description
line, the word "applications" should be "application". - The
distname
line is redundant and should be removed since that is the default. - I do not understand this line: "
configure.args-append ../${distname
}". Does it really need that to configure? - Are you willing to be the maintainer for this port?

Sorry, I don't understand how to change my ticket. In the help it says "All tickets can be edited, annotated, assigned, prioritized and discussed at any time." - but how?

Ok, if you say so. I just used the kdegraphics4 port as a basis, if I recall correctly, and adapted it to digikam's needs.
- In the
long_description
line, the word "applications" should be "application".
Maybe the whole description should be different. I don't think I made the previous line up, but I don't remember where it is from. Maybe it is "applications" (plural) because "showfoto" is included in the package? I like the Debian package description better. Based on that I propose:
"Digital photo management program to import, organize, enhance, search and export your digital images."
- The
distname
line is redundant and should be removed since that is the default.
Ok (please delete it, or tell me how I can do it).
- I do not understand this line: "
configure.args-append ../${distname
}". Does it really need that to configure?
I also don't understand it, but configure fails without this line, so I guess it is necessary (kdegraphics4 also has it).
- Are you willing to be the maintainer for this port?
No, sorry, but I don't think I want to maintain this for very long. Currently I'm on holidays, but usually I don't have that much time left, plus my iMac is very slow, and I don't think I'll ever buy a new Mac. I just live in a transition period before going 100% free software. ;-)

You can update an attachment by uploading a file with the same name and checking "Replace existing attachment of the same name". You can add comments of course, but only macports team members can edit a ticket.

FYI, there is no revision line in the kdegraphics4 portfile.

Sounds good.

OK. I've just never seen that before.

Ok, I changed the description and deleted the two unnecessary lines. I hope digiKam can soon become part of the "available Ports".

I'm trying to install it, but I'm hung up on a dependency - kdebase4-runtime (#20362).

I'm also stuck on a conflict with gnome (#18914).

Added in r59151. But I tested on Snow Leopard and it does not seem to work due to kde not working. See ticket:21973.

Additional info: I only tested digiKam on Mac OS superficially, but it seems pretty stable. It only crashed once when deleting an album. I did have issues with thumbnail pictures not showing, but I don't know whether it was just a dbus issue like in February, or whether it really helps to launch /Applications/MacPorts/KDE4/kded4.app and other programs before digiKam, as Jan Gosmann (link to his German description for installing digiKam 0.10.0 on Mac OS) suggests.
P.S.: Today is the first day I use trac. Thanks, macsforever2000, for fixing my formatting!
