I try again to install dsniff-devel, after some housekeeping like:
port selfupdate; port upgrade outdated (reported "Error: No ports matched the given expression"); port clean --all dsniff-devel; port contents dsniff-devel (reported "Port dsniff-devel is not installed"); sudo port -d install -f dsniff-devel (reported "Error: Status 1 encountered during processing") ("Warning: the following items did not execute (for dsniff-devel): org.macports.activate org.macports.build org.macports.destroot org.macports.install");
I have enclosed the debug log of the install

dsniff 2.4b1 patch for new libnet, libnids.
comment:9 Changed 14 years ago by shadow@…
Patch here is based on
- http://svn.rpmforge.net/svn/trunk/rpms/dsniff/dsniff-2.4-libnet_11.patch
- http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/d/dsniff/dsniff_2.4b1+debian-18.diff.gz
- patches already in the port
- original work so it could theoretically go upstream
It applies to 2.4b1.
Integrate if you wish. I don't believe in patch-per-file, I prefer patch-per-reason-to-patch, and in this case there is one: "depend on modern libraries".

As a note: in r76373 I've added a +libnet variant to libnids so in the meanwhile you should be able to install dsniff by installing lbnids +libnet by hand before dsniff

This is fixed because dsniff
and dsniff-devel
will check for the required variants in libnids
.
