Reported by: gehzumteufel@… Owned by: imajes@…
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 1.8.2
Keywords: Cc:
Port: ncursesw

Description (last modified by mf2k (Frank Schima))

Every time that I attempt to install ncursesw, I am unable to due to this error:

Error: Target org.macports.build returned: shell command " cd "/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_devel_ncursesw/work/ncurses-5.7-i386" && /usr/bin/make -j3 all " returned error 2

Attached is the debug output of the attempted install.

I am a total OS 10 n00b and attempted to search for this error but failed. So if it has been answered previously, I am sorry.

Some info: Mac Pro 3,1 in 64bit mode dual quad-core xeons. Clean new install about a month ago of 10.6.

Since you mentioned this I have now found the problem as a result of your "hint" in the right direction. Was finally able to get it installed. Thanks!

Damnit, spoke too soon. Same error after removing the universal and building for x86_64.

What exactly are you doing? What did you do the first time?

I finally figured it out, but it was only after using a command (port clean --dist all) that was suggested on another fully unrelated ticket. This worked and I was able to get it installed.
