atlas 3.8.3 fails to build

On a MacbookAir Mac OSX 10.6.6, atlas 3.8.3 fails to build 

--->  Building atlas
Error: Target org.macports.build returned: shell command failed (see log for details)
Error: Failed to install atlas
Log for atlas is at: /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_math_atlas/main.log
Error: Status 1 encountered during processing.

I don't have the log anymore but I think it was failing on STAGE 2-3-5. At least, I'm sure it was not on the same stages as tickets #27640 and #27542.

And, I don't have the log because, after examining the log file, I issued the offending commands:

cd "/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_math_atlas/work/atlas-3.8.3/build" sudo make build

and it compiled and installed just fine.

Without a log, there is nothing that can be done here.
