Description
At work (behind firewall) rsync and svn http (webdav?) methods for "port sync" don't work, so I have been using the http method of:
<http://trac.macports.org/wiki/howto/PortTreeTarball>
I noticed that my home system got updates that I didn't get at work. I manually downloaded ports.tar.gz and got a version from Jan. 10th (two weeks ago). "port sync" should complain if ports.tar.gz is more than, say, 48 hours old. As it happens, I wasn't able to do updates at home for several weeks (renovations), so I didn't know what updates to expect.
