bittorrent 5.2.0 build failure: Permission denied: '/Users/x/Library/Application Support

BitTorrent fails to build with the following error:

OSError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/Users/aednichols/Library/Application Support'
shell command " cd "/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.
macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_net_bittorrent/bittorrent/work/BitTorrent-5.2.0"
&& /opt/local/bin/python2.5 setup.py --no-user-cfg build " returned error 1

I've tried cleaning and rebuilding BitTorrent and its dependencies 3 times, and the error has recurred on each occasion. In the course of doing system maintenance, I have also repaired disk permissions, but that did not improve the situation.

I'm running 10.5.8 on a G5, with Xcode 3.1.4 installed.

Undoubtedly the new privilege-dropping code in MacPorts 2. The software should not be trying to look in your Application Support folder.

I'm uncertain why we need this port at all anymore. Surely you'd want the much newer version of the BitTorrent software available for download by visiting ​http://www.bittorrent.com/ ?

Point taken, and I have been using the binary version downloaded from their site. However, it seems like this should be fixed, or the port removed.
